We're
pleased to announce that Idle Hour’s USTA League 4.0 Senior men’s team has reached the National Championships taking place October 14-16, 2011 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, in Indian Wells, CA. The team, captained by Louis Patitucci, won the Section Championships at Mercer County Park in Princeton, N.J. on September 18.

The team finished 6-3 in the regular season, won all three District playoff matches in late August and swept through the Sectionals, winning 4 of 5 matches. The team of Haviland-Sears compiled a 10-0 record, Tom Mead won 6 of 7 matches, Nick Mirolli and John Parke also had outstanding records. The remaining team members made fine contributions all season-long.

The Championships in Indian Wells, CA will feature the top 16 teams in the USA at the 4.0 level. Idle Hour's team will play teams from Southern Calif., New England and Northern (Wisconsin-Minnesota area). The flight champion will then play against the flight champion of three other flights to determine the National Champion.

350,000 players compete in the USTA Leagues every year at different skill levels. The IHTC men are now in select company as they will be playing against the best 200 senior 4.0 players in the country.
